My name is David Prown and I am the 3rd generation owner of Prown's Home Improvements here in Red Bank. I have been working in the family business since 1989. I am a 4th generation Red Bank resident (and my kids are 5th Generation). This blog allows me share with fellow Red Bank enthusiasts my passion for this town with an emphasis on the youth in town.
Never skilled enough to make sports teams, I surely had a great appreciation for those that have that skill set. Some of my earliest memories are of going to watch town/recreation sporting
events for hours on end. Since coming to live in Red Bank 20 years ago, I continued my interest in watching local
sports, particularly high school level. That continues today virtually year round (I go to summer summer league
games in multiple sports). However, I ratchet up my enthusiasm always in the winter time where basketball is my
all time favorite sport to watch. This blog focuses primarily on high school hoops, mostly on the great local
Shore Conference and mostly on the girls basketball where we have simply the best conference in the state - hands down.
Figured since I was going 2-4 days a week, why not share my amateur thoughts.
About 15 years ago I took a Movie class at the Monmouth Mall from Chuck Rose. Working the retail
store and having young kids, I needed one night a week to decompress and get away. This allowed me to do so but also
introduced me to opening my eyes to see and enjoy all types of films (not just the block busters).
With the kids older and absolutely a certified movie junkie, especially the arts films, I go regularly twice a week
to the local film houses to see the newest releases. Other folks write detailed, insightful professional reviews. My
style is definitely more blue collar, short, to the point. I think it works for some.
